Methodology
Korea's housing subscription point system is governed by MOLIT Housing Supply Rules Appendix 1 and consists of three components. Homeless period (max 32 pts): Counted from age 30 or marriage registration date, whichever is earlier. 2 pts are added per year, capped at 32 pts for 15+ years. Dependents (max 35 pts): Counts spouse, lineal ascendants (parents/grandparents registered in the same household for 3+ years), and unmarried lineal descendants, excluding yourself. Starts at 5 pts for 0 dependents and adds 5 pts per person, capped at 35 pts for 6+. Subscription account tenure (max 17 pts): Based on the Korea Housing Savings Account. Under 6 months = 1 pt, 6–12 months = 2 pts, then +1 pt per year, capped at 17 pts for 15+ years. The three components sum to a maximum of 84 pts. Actual winning scores vary by development, unit type, location, and application timing.

- When does the homeless period start?
- It starts from age 30 or your marriage registration date, whichever comes first. Prior to that date, homeless status does not earn points. If you previously owned a home and sold it, only the period after the sale counts.
- Who counts as a dependent?
- Spouse, lineal ascendants (parents/grandparents registered in your household for 3+ years), and unmarried lineal descendants (children/grandchildren). Yourself is excluded. Siblings do not count.
